now?

not so much.

*sigh*

i wonder why. gotta pick up reading again. soon.

how about you?

My December in food form :)

Ah... 6 more days to twenty eleven, and twenty ten is coming to an end. I thoroughly enjoyed the month of Christmas, stuffed full with hectic schedules of fun, celebrations, lazy days, and spur-of-the-moment moments....
But when i tried to filter in my mind what i'd been doing lately, it was all a blur... and in the process of searching for clues to what i exactly did in my phone only revealed mostly pictures of food. I wonder why i chose to retain memories through food. anyways, so here they are:

***

ah i remember now.
my only holiday job this time is working for 3 days distributing flyers.
delivered 6000 flyers over 3 days with amy and fiona. chiyan grace rachel helped too :)

After this stint, i realised 3 things:
#1 never look down upon flyer delivery people.
#2 i dont like dogs so much now. especially when they chase innocent girls distributing flyers.

#3 the silver lining: you get free mangoes falling on your head.

***

Cupcakes!

for grace's birthday at pasta zanmai.
my kid sister (and her childhood best friend amy chan chui may) kept telling me stories of her past sad birthdays. i shall not relate the story here in case you get the idea that i'm a bad sister.
ok i admit that i WAS a terrible sister back then.

but anyway give me a chance so redeem myself hehe so this year i planned a lil' something.

haiz lazy to relate the whole thing but its not all about cupcakes ok?
there were other stuff but lazy lah.
the thing is: grace is HAPPY~!
teehee, happy 14th my dear sis~

***

and i had a
impromptu picnic by the lakeside.
we had it after cleaning up a house meant for an orphanage soon.
looking forward to meeting all the kids :)

***

and this is:
crepes!

that i made for eunice koh for her birthday (yes my sisters had their birthdays 5 days apart)
i just love crepes, easy to make and yummy too~

***

introducing my absolute favourite fruit in the world:
boxes and boxes of cherries,
specially hand-carried by my dear aunt and her family from Australia

and enjoying them bit by bit with a book on a lazy Christmas afternoon :3

***

next on the list:

Korean instant noodles that were actually thicker and juicier than the usual crap maggi.
with kampong runny egg yolk!
ahh... had this for lunch during sessions with hhsb.
they seem to be improving~
sigh when can i buy my own french horn?

***

i threw this at my dad.

watermelons?

absolutely cute rubber bouncy balls disguised as watermelons~

***

and the best for the last:

made 'tong yuen' for the Winter Solstice with kid cousins.

cute, yes?

10 interesting (or not) facts about merry.

decided to do a tag. so here goes:

fact #1
I absolutely hate it when people talk to me while i'm reading.
'Wah you reading ah?'
=.= like, OBVIOUSLY?

fact #2
I play bass guitar. and the french horn. and some measly piano. and a little drums. and some guitar. haiz.

fact #3
I fear all insects. that's right, including butterflies.
especially cockroaches, huge buzzing bees, crickets, grasshoppers, spiders, centipedes, milipedes (i know they aren't exactly insects now. ok, i fear creepy-crawlies then.)
the only insect i'm not afraid of is ze ladybeetle~

fact #4
If someone gave me a choice of 100 million (or any huge amount of cash) to be spent in one day,
i would just buy up all the available gold bars with that amount.
and plan in detail how to spend in the days later.
ah, one can still dream, yes?

fact #5
My favorite household chore is washing the toilet. haha. but its true!

fact #6
The reason i don't listen to much radio is because the lyrics are getting more and more brainless nowadays. so forgive me for not being in touch with popular culture :]

fact #7
I like to whistle. Like a guy. I whistle songs instead of singing them because i used to hate my singing.

fact #8
I have been wearing specs since age 4~

fact #9
I find myself unable to complete a lot of things. and this is one of them.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Dec 19, 2010

sticky stuff and all.

whee~ had a date with naimo dunno how long ago to fahrenheit 88 and pavillion.
since there's this huge hype over Uniqlo's flagship store opening so thought i'd go check it out.

and it gallops~

argh spent hours lost in KL. this is what you get with two girls who don't have GPS.

anyway finally decided to park in Pavillion and walk over.

totally didn't regret that decision though, cause

surprise, surprise,

found this!
STICKY!

apart from bounty these are my favourite candies of ALL time! er for those who didn't know what they were from the pics these were candies that had a glass-like texture. If the flavor is watermelon, your candy will be pink with black seeds and green candy on the outside, just like a watermelon. there were pomegranates, apples, oranges, lemons, grapes, and lots of other flavas! it looked so sugary and intricate!

the reason i love them so? i guess its the memories they evoke.

in my last high school year where we all had senioritis and basically refuse to take English seriously we would just goof off in class. However one day peiyin brightened up that particular class with a huge bag of STICKIES for us~

those stickies were a present from her bf especially from Australia!

and till today i still don't know why that day all of us were so thick-skinned can finish most of those candies in one class.

memories of sweet flavours, colourful candies, slightly sticky fingers, friends laughter, crinkle of the clear plastic bag as we hunt for the perfect flavour......

this is coffee flavour!
with 'COFFEE' spelled out in case you can't read it.
the one i was holding earlier is Merry Christmas.
and another one i was tempted to get was a red one with chinese '喜喜' for chinese weddings.
for someone lah~

wow still couldn't believe that i could get it in Malaysia jor...at last brought one bottle for naimo's birthday. right now got Christmas promotion, two jars for rm30?
and you can see those candy chefs making candies on the spot,
melting huge hunks of sugar, rolling, molding, chopping them~

STICKY is looking for candy chefs too, so anyone interested please please go interview ~

the rest of the day: dinner at 'face-to-face' puchong while waiting for ms chair~

forever 21 at Pavillion is always the best! got one shirt for rm10, will try to modify it soon~

these coupla pics taken inside Uniqlo, actually kennot take pics de :D

i LOVE uniqlo, the stuff were really nice, but sadly since i'm not going anywhere cold enough soon so i'm unable to make any purchases. but there were some really cute jackets, puffy ones, nike-lookalikes, cashmere, cute sleepwear, seriously cheap jeans, etc etc etc...

but the rest of fahrenheit 88 is seriously blah though. dislike.

and we went to ms. chair soo yee's new house to chat the night away~

sticky for christmas~!
